Elements
Program sequence is important in each group’s challenge course experience. Each element is presented in progressive fashion allowing groups to build upon each activity to help prepare for future challenges.
Group Initiatives – a group’s experience begins with a series of group initiatives. These activities allow participants to become more familiar with each other. They also provide a time for warming-up and stretching muscles. It is during this time that group goals are discussed along with factors to consider as the group moves forward.
Low Elements – are generally close to the ground and require group members to serve as spotters to increase participant’s safety. At Camp Shalom low element challenges are permanent stations clustered in close proximity to each other.
High Elements – are challenges that take place above the ground and require participants to wear harnesses, helmets and include a belay system for safety. Our high elements offer both team and individual challenges.
