Craft Barn

Craft Barn header

The structure at Camp Shalom that we today call the Craft Barn, was originally built as an open-air Dining Hall.  Today it is home to our Environmental Education programs and our crafts activities.

When you drive past the Craft Barn, it's easy to pass it off as an old building that is past it's prime.  But, once you step inside you begin to feel the presence of the thousands of staff and campers who attended camp over the past 40 years.  The artistic creations and names of campers adorn the walls, floors, rafters in almost every possible space,

If you find yourself with a few extra minutes to spend when you visit Camp Shalom, take a some time to walk through the Craft Barn and take in the vast number of names in this beautiful time capsule, of those who came and shared a “time and place apart”.
